About ICLMore Than a Masjid — We Are Family
The Islamic Center of Laveen was built on a simple belief: every Muslim family in Laveen deserves a place to pray, to learn, and to belong.
Our Mission
To be a welcoming home for every Muslim — a place where iman is strengthened, the Quran is taught, and no one walks through the door and feels like a stranger. We serve the Muslim families of Laveen and, through them, the entire community around us.
Our Vision
A permanent masjid in the heart of Laveen — where the adhan rings out five times a day, children memorize Quran in the shade of its halls, and generations of Muslim families find peace, purpose, and belonging. Insha'Allah, this is what we are building.

Born from the Longing
of Believing Hearts
It began the way most great things begin — with a need and a handful of people willing to do something about it. Muslim families in Laveen were driving long distances just to pray Jumu'ah. They wanted their children to grow up knowing the Quran. They wanted neighbors who shared their values.
So in 2020, a small group came together and made du'a. They rented a space, rolled out the prayer rugs, and called the adhan. From that first congregation grew what you see today — a thriving Islamic center with daily prayers, a Quran school, halaqas for every age, and a community knit together by love of Allah.
"Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for them a path to Paradise."
— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Muslim)
We are still growing, still dreaming, still building — and every person who walks through our doors becomes part of that story. Including you.
ICL Timeline
From a small prayer gathering to a thriving Islamic community — every milestone is a sign of Allah's barakah.
2020
ICL is Founded
A handful of Muslim families in Laveen came together with a shared longing — they needed a masjid close to home. With sincerity and du'a, the Islamic Center of Laveen was born.
2021
Programs Come Alive
The Noor Al-Quran School opened its doors, halaqas began filling with students, and the youth found their Saturday-night community. Alhamdulillah — the seeds were growing.
2022
The Community Grows
Word spread. Families drove from across the West Valley to find what ICL offered — real community, genuine Islamic education, and a Jumu'ah that felt like home. Two shifts were needed.
2023
The Building Campaign Begins
We launched our permanent masjid building fund. The community responded with incredible generosity — proof that when the ummah unites for Allah, nothing is impossible.
2024
Design & Planning
Architectural vision for a beautiful, purpose-built masjid in Laveen. Every corner designed for worship, learning, and gathering. The blueprint of our dream.
Today
The Journey Continues
We are building — in faith, in community, and soon, in brick and mortar. The masjid of tomorrow is being built by the hearts of today. Will yours be among them?
What We Stand For
Six principles that guide every decision, every program, and every interaction at the Islamic Center of Laveen.
Worship
Five prayers a day anchor our community. The masjid doors open before Fajr and close after Isha — because the remembrance of Allah is the heart of everything we do.
Education
We believe every Muslim should know their deen. Through the Noor Al-Quran School, Tafseer halaqas, and weekly circles of knowledge, we make learning accessible to all.
Community
The Prophet ﷺ said the believers are like one body. We live that — showing up for each other in celebration, in hardship, and in everyday life.
Service
Islam is not only between you and Allah — it extends to your neighbor, your city, and the stranger who needs help. We serve the wider Laveen community with open hands.
Integrity
Honesty and accountability are non-negotiable. We operate with full transparency in our finances, our governance, and our dealings with every member of this community.
Youth
Our young people carry the amanah of this ummah forward. We invest in them not just as future leaders — but as present Muslims who matter right now.
Meet Our Imam
Sheikh Mahmud Iddrisu
Masjid Imam · Head of Education
Sheikh Mahmud Iddrisu is the heart of ICL. He leads every prayer with care, delivers khutbahs that speak to where we live and who we are, and teaches the Quran to students of all ages with patience and love. For many families in Laveen, he is not just the Imam — he is a spiritual father.
This Is Your Community Too
